The Flying Cop
FTFTFTFTFTFT went the sound of the helicopter as it rushes on top of the dark, thick forest below. Using the bright yellow beam of light the pilot scans the area with his very expensive night vision goggles. “Helicopter 516 coming in over,” the pilot said through the intercom. “This is Lieutenant Scott, what is your status? Over” “Negative sir, we don’t have any leads, so its very hard to find them over.” “Keep searching over and out.” Constable Taylor could tell Lieutenant Scott was getting desperate. The private jet had gone down in the middle of the night, And had only 2 survivors. They had contacted the police with a radio but they didn’t know where they were. So now the police are sent to find them. The 2 survivors had quite serious injuries. One survivor had a crushed leg and the other had a long painful looking gash across his back which was still bleeding. ConThe stable Taylor searched everywhere scanning the whole forest with the bright beam. They searched for hours and hours. They suspect that the plane crashed down into a very bushy dense part of the huge valley just west of there location, but no one was sure. But Just Then they got a call, ‘ Lieutenant Scott here, you can come back now over.’ Hearing this Constable Taylor turned his jet black chopper and headed back to the station.
When they arrived at the station lieutenant Scott came and said ‘ I think we might have a lead, a local farmer by the forest saw a huge fireball disappear into the valley.’ ‘ Which valley?’ Constable Taylor asked. ‘ The biggest valley unfortunately.’ ‘ So what are we waiting for, lets go!’ ‘we can’t the weather forecast predicts there’s going to be a big wind blowing in from the east and its going to get foggy too. We can only wait for now.’
Several hours later...’ Go Go Go!’ Constable Taylor shouted. As soon as they were ready they were off. The weather has cleared now so they can fly towards the valley. The chopper flew for about a hour zipping around trying to survivors. But they were out of luck. There was still fog at the bottom of the valley like a huge blanket.Eventually they came back to refill the fuel. Fortunately when they came back the fog had cleared making searching much more easier. But they still searched for hours, looking through the thick dense bushes. The private jet was very small and it was green making it even harder to find.
Eventually the sky turned into a dark blue colour. The giant light shone through the bushes. They had got several choppers flying around the valley. Constable Taylor searched through parts of the valley he already searched, triple checking everything. Then he saw a strange spot in the valley. It seemed out of place because the green was a little lighter than the bush around it, then he zoomed in with his camera and saw 2 little figures next to the spot, waving there arms. Constable shouted with joy ‘ We found them!’ Immediately all the choppers flew over to Constable Taylor’s helicopter. ‘ We found them Lieutenant Scott! Over’ ‘Good job guys over’ Replied through the intercom. The helicopter lowered a rescue man down into the wreck. He picked them up one by one back into the helicopter. Then began working on the wounds immediately, meanwhile Constable Taylor turned the helicopter around and began the journey back to the station. Though he is tired and hungry Constable Taylor was relived when he found the survivors and can’t wait to get back to his family and tell this amazing story.

Here is a review of a book i have read recently
The Tomorrow Code Review
The tomorrow code by Brian Falkner, is about two teenagers called Tane Williams and Rebecca Richards. Rebecca is a top student in almost all his subjects. Tane is a very good writer and the two have known each other since kindergarten. The two were debating whether time travel was possible when Rebecca got very interested in it so they went to this university and got this disk with information about a satellite called swift. So they loaded the disk and found a message which was a bunch of 1’s and 0’s but with their intelligence they cracked the code and it turned out there future mes sent it. And it was Superball numbers a S.O.S message and a password for top secret information. But since there too young to buy the Superball they got Tane’s big brother to buy it. That’s when he joins the adventure too. So they won the Superball with the message but the S.O.S message also told them to buy a submarine, and they did. So with the password they got some top secret information about a project called ‘The Chimera Project’ which was supposed to bring doom to the human race. So they ran off to Professor Green who apparently was behind it but she said she didn’t know anything about. But Rebecca wasn’t convinced. She thought Professor Green was lying. So they started a dangerous mission to infiltrate the headquarters of Professor Green’s Lab. I would love to keep going on about the story but you are going to have to read the rest of the book yourself. All I can say is that it is an exciting Sci-Fi Thriller With loads of action, suspense and dramatic scenes. So if I had to rate this book out of 10 I would say an 8 and a half. This book was published by Walker Books in 2008. So now that you know a bit about this book and what I rated it I hope you would choose and read this awesome book.

Fast food
For all you people reading this I am going to talk about fast food and other food. Fast food is food that is usually inexpensive, convenient and quick. That’s why people buy it, but the reason why fast food is inexpensive is because it uses cheaper and unhealthier ingredients like high fat oil, refined grains and added fats and oil, instead of ingredients like lean meat. That’s why fast food is high in cholesterol, sodium and fat. However it’s not all fast food’s fault because some people who eat fast food regularly don’t exercise a lot. In a New Zealand survey in 2006 showed that 1 in 12 kids was obese and 1 in 5 kids were overweight. And also 2 in 3 kids have drunk fizzy drink in the past 10 days. The popular type of fast food includes fries, burger, fried chicken, pizza and fish and chips. Popular fast food franchises include Macdonald, KFC, Burger king, Pizza hut etc. There are also more types of fast food like Indian food and Chinese food and Fish n Chips.
The main 5 types of food are
. Carbohydrates they are mainly found in sugary or starchy foods like fruits or bread. Energy value is 17 kj per gram.
.Fats is also known as lipid. Fat found in stuff like butter, oil and meat. Fat acts as insulation from the cold. Energy value is 38 kj per gram.
.Proteins is found in food like Eggs, fish, meat and lentils. Protein is used for repairing the body and growing. Energy value is 17 kj per gram.
. Vitamins and minerals don’t have any energy value but is important for growth and health.
Now that you know about the 5 main types of food. I can tell you about the food prymaid.
. Water 8 servings
. Rice, bread and pasta 6 servings
. Vegetables 3 servings
. Fruit 2 servings
. Milk, yogurt and cheese 3 servings
. Meat, fish, dry beans and nuts 2 servings
. Calcium, Vitamin d and Vitamin b-12 supplements
. Fats, oil and sweets use sparingly
So now you know a bit about fast food and other types of food. Hope you make the right decision about what you are going to eat. Like they say you are what you eat.

W.A.L.T:describe how advancements in technology occur to meet a need or to solve a problem.
1. What problems does the use of the electric car solve?
1. The electric car helps reduce gas exhaust from petrol powered cars because it is electric.
2. who will benefit from the electric car?
2. The environment will benefit from the electric because there wouldn't be exhaust pollution.
3. What problems are caused by the electric car?
3. The problems caused by the electric car is that it can't go on for a long time, so people who travel from city to city regularly will find a hard time, because you need to take awhile to recharge your car.
4. Who Killed the electric car review.
4.who killed the electric car?
well first of all a electric car is a car that runs on batteries. That's why it is a eco-friendly car, because ordinary gas cars burn up petrol which comes out as gas which then the gas goes up into the air which contributes to global warming.
So in the documentary 'who killed the electric car' it talks about where the idea came from and companies who made it for example, General Motors, Ford, Honda, Toyota etc. The movie also talks about the positives and negatives of the electric car. like this: it helps stop car gas pollution. and negative: it can only run for a short period of time before having to recharge . The movie then talked about companies removing there electric cars off the road because not many people buy them. so then the car owners got very angry that there electric car is being taken away. The movie then looks at angry customers in front of car company buildings protesting for there car. Next it talked about suspects that put the car into crushers.
so the movie was pretty good, talking about the electric car how it was a blessing to some people or a burden to others. But the movie was a 7 out of 10 for me.

here is a recount about camp.
Camp 2010
On the 3rd of May 2010, it was camp for students in Syndicate D and Room 28. The camp was in Motutapu Island. An Island which is next to Rangitoto Island. And that's where we’re going to stay.
So on Monday morning, I went to half moon bay. Where I got my luggage and prepared to board the ferry. After everyone came to half moon bay, we boarded the ferry. The ride was cool, because the parents shot at us water balloons. When we arrived at Rangitoto Island, we had a group photo. My group consisted of Michael, Jason, Kyle G, Dion, Crystal, Sonna, Krishna and me, and our group parent was Mr Glogoski who is Kyle’s dad. After the photo’s we started our hike which was 6.5 km. Once we cross the little bridge which separated Rangitoto from Motutapu, we had morning tea. After morning tea we continued our walk to camp. When we got to camp, I slumped down on a bench and ate lunch.
After lunch we had our first activity, mine was sailing so I got changed into my togs and headed down to the beach. Sailing was fun, I came first both times and never capsized. After sailing we had afternoon tea which was cookies. Then we had our second activity. My second activity was raft building. Our raft was good at the start and the other team’s raft started to fall apart. Then eventually ours fell apart too. After raft building we hit the showers and prepared for dinner. Dinner is served, Nachos for dinner and chocolate fudge. Yummy! So after dinner we got ready for our night activity.
Once I got ready we waited to go to the hall, because my group was doing hall activities. Hall activities was pretty fun, we played lots games. After night activities we had a cookie and milo and we did diary writing. After all that we went to bed.
Day2
After we woke up and ate breakfast we got told our first activity. Mine was Rock wall it was okay but that's because I wasn’t a very good climber. Then we had morning tea then head on to the activity which was confidence course. Confidence course is all about teamwork, it was good fun! After the confidence course we had lunch which was luncheon meat with bread, salad and coleslaw. After lunch it was kayaking we played games in our kayaks one of the games was kayak soccer that was fun! After afternoon tea we had our last activity which was high ropes. High ropes were fun because you get to walk across wires and wooden beams 10 metres high, but with a harness of course. After high ropes we prepared for dinner. Dinner was sticky chicken yummy… After dinner we got ready for our night activity.
My night activity that night was spotlight, I hid everywhere but I still get caught. Strange… After spotlight we had supper and diary writing then we went to bed.
Day3
After the usual routine of breakfast we had our first activity, I had gun walk it was pretty cool first you got to see a documentary about Motutapu Island then you go on a walk where you get to see the barracks. After the hike we had morning tea then our second activity. Which was Archery It was the meanest, because it was the first time I did Archery. And I was the second best out of two groups. After lunch which was hot dogs we had survival course it was very fun because you get very muddy I was muddy from waist and below. After I got cleaned I had orienteering. I got 8 clues out of 12 clues which were pretty good. Then we had dinner which was spaghetti Bolognese and it was very good. After dinner we got ready for our night activity. Mine was Burma Trail, so Mr Crowhurst told us the story of Johnny Burma which was cool then got sent off in our group into the Burma trail. The Burma trail wasn’t scary at all A parent even squished me into a tree when he tripped while jumping out to scare us. So after the Burma trail we had supper and diary writing then it was off to bed.
Day4
After breakfast we prepared for our electives that we chose. I chose snorkeling, kayaking and Archery. I had snorkeling first so I got changed into my togs and went into two wetsuits. Even then I was still cold in the water, but after awhile I got use to it and saw lots of fish I saw a very big snapper too. After snorkeling we had morning tea and then we our next activity, mine was kayaking. The sea was very rough so my arms were exhausted after kayaking. After kayaking I had lunch which was macaroni and cheese. After lunch I had Archery it was pretty cool though my arms were pretty tired. After Archery I played basketball and prepared for dinner. Dinner was roast beef with peas and baked potato. After dinner we waited for the camp concert, when it began it was pretty cool. There were lots of comedy shows which were very funny. After the camp concert we had supper and went to bed.
Day5
Today in the morning I packed my bags first then went to breakfast. After my big bag was in the truck, we got ready to start our 6.5 km walk back to Rangitoto Island. So we began our walk, I was walking with my friend Ian. And we were talking the whole way through the walk. When we did get to Rangitoto Island we boarded the ferry and went off to Half Moon Bay. Where I got picked up back to my home.
So overall camp is something you don’t want to miss, because it was awesome! And camp is a place where you can have fun with your friends and become more fit. And plus you might be able to make some new friends.

Deforestation
Wood is a strong material from trees, so in order to get it we must chop down trees. But have chop down too many trees? because i am going to tell you the effects of deforestation.
There are several causes and effects of deforestation. The first is erosion, trees stop soil by river banks from tumbling down into the river. But when trees get chopped down, all that soil come tumbling down into the river causing erosion, and also it will poison the fish. Which means fishermans won’t be able to feed themselves.
The second cause and effect is forest fires, the forest is home to many plants, animal and insects. And when a forest fire will kill all those animals and insects. And plus forest fires can be a harm to nearby houses.
My last cause and effect climate change. Forest cool down naturally, and also goes through a course called ‘Photosynthesis’ where Co2 gets absorbed and O2 comes out. So chopped trees will cause Co2 levels to rise. And also forest fires will make temperatures rise.
History Of Cellphones
Cellphones are portable, smart, easy to use and tough. But do you know how all this started?Well I am about to tell you.
The idea of phones first started in 1928.And since then radio technology has started to evolve.Phones were used in war.And on 1973 the first cellphone was made.As technology evolved, entertainment was installed like music, games and cameras.
In 1910 Lars Ericssion installed a phone in his car, but this was not a radio phone. He would travel the country and use a accessible telephone line.Using a long pair of electrical wires,he could connect up to the national telephone network.
Also in 1946 Soviet engineers G.Sharpio and I.Zaharchecko succesfully tested their version of radio mobile, mounted inside a car.It could connect up to a network from a range up to 20 kilometers.
In the 1990’s the ‘second generation‘ was introduced.Known as the 2g network. The 2g network worked by having a digital circuit that switched transmissions, and it was also the introduction to advance and fast phone-to-network signaling.
Not long after the 2g network, people started to work on the ‘third generation‘ also known 3g network. After awhile in 2007, over 295 million people subscribed on 3g network worldwide.3g telecom services has earned over 120 billion dollars. And so it was clear that the 3g network is a profitable service.
